Fall 2023: Amazing Career Race

    INA, Ill. (Sep. 14, 2023)—The Fall 2023 Amazing Career Race is back again for September 14, 15, and 18.

    Students build Jenga towers under the supervision of Emily VanDeveer, Administrative Assistant of Applied Science &Technology.

    Students learn the placement of human autonomy under the supervision of Bria Robinson, Dean of Allied Health. 

    Students learn computer science from Computer Technician Nathan Burkitt. 
    Students learn geography with a puzzle of the United States. 

    The Amazing Career Race is a fun and informative event meant to introduce local 5th and 6th graders to different career paths available to them.

    The students will explore 16 Career Clusters that range from Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources to Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics. The students will do a variety of activities which vary from learning about the different pathways and occupations to participating in actual “hands-on” from qualified RLC faculty & staff. experience that model the skills needed in those different careers.

    Thursday, September 14:  East Side, Sesser-Valier, Dahlgren, Zeigler-Royalton, Field, and Pinckneyville #204.

    Friday, September 15: Woodlawn, Farrington, Wayne City, Opdyke Belle Rive, and Thompsonville.

    Monday, September 18: Waltonville, Ewing, Bluford, McClellan, St. Mary Mount Vernon, and Tamaroa.
