Meeting Highlights
Under New Business, the Board:
- Approved Revisions to Rend Lake College Policy 3.1025 - Terms of Appointment and Termination of Part-Time Employees, first reading, effective retroactively to January 1, 2024.
RATIONALE: These revisions to policy are needed to better meet the needs of the institution. - Approved Revisions to Rend Lake College Policy and Procedure 3.1205 – Performance Evaluation and Tenure of Faculty Members, effective September 17, 2024.
RATIONALE: The tenured/tenure track faculty seniority list is updated each Spring and Fall as needed and requires Board approval for revisions. - Approved the FY 2025 Budget, effective September 17, 2024.RATIONALE: Provided as a separate document, the FY 2025 budget was presented in tentative form at the August meeting. As required by law, the proposed budget has been available for public inspection for thirty (30) days. A public hearing on said budget was held at 5:00 PM on the 17th day of September, 2024.
- Granted permission to bid and award purchase and installation of solar panel array, effective September 17, 2024.
RATIONALE: This IGEN grant opportunity provides for additional potential curriculum integration, educational exposure for students, and a supplemental electrical source for the Pinckneyville campus.
Under Personnel, the Board:
- Accepted, with regret, the resignation of Ms. Lisa Tennyson, Subsidized Child Care Specialist, effective August 22, 2024.
- Appointed Mr. Ryan Acord as Technician – Audiovisual and Distance Learning, pending a successful background check, effective September 16, 2024.
- Appointed Mr. Reed Raubach as Computer Technician, pending a successful background check, effective September 16, 2024.
- Granted permission to create the position, job description, and transfer Coordinator – Receiving and inventory Control, effective September 12, 2024.
- TABLED: Appointment of Subsidized Child Care Specialist (CCRR).
